Note- Running 3D mark no stuttering occurs but the benchmark doesn't max a solid 60 fpsģD mark also tells me GYSNC is enabled when I don't have a Gsync monitor. Most recent I would get a solid 60 fps in Outlast but it feels as if the games is dropping frames cause I get horrible hitching. Turning v-sync of is not an Option as Screen tearing is horrendous. In general anything below a solid 60fps feels choppy as hell. Another issue I see is when in a game I drop below 60fps to say 50 it seems awfully choppy and feels more like 20fps than 50. Lowering the the graphics still causes the minor stutter when it drops to 57fps and back up. Looking at certain place I would jump to 150 Frames a second then look somewhere else and immediately drop to like 40 fps which is a frame difference of 110 Frames in less than a second which to my knowledge is not very stable. Another thing I noted is before when I had the GTX 660 I would get 30 to 50 fps depending on where I looked wich is a difference of only 20 frames but on the GTX 1060 their is MAJOR jumps depending on where I look for example Outlast 2. I turned off v sync to ensure I was getting a constant above 60 and I didn't even drop below 80 fps So I cant understand why I'm getting this drop to 57 and back up causing stutter. I installed a FPS monitor and started monitoring FPS it would be 60 solid but every 10 seconds or so it would drop to 57fps (EXACT) and then bounce back up immediately to 60 but this falling outta the refresh rate causes Stutter. Minor hitching but definitely noticeable and immersion breaking.(Note) Setting maximum Pre Rendered Frame to 1 does nothing. This is when a new issue arose I would get constant stuttering or minor hitching every few seconds. To no surprise of course I jumped to a solid 60fps on most games. about a few month ago I upgraded to the GTX 1060 GB and bought and SSD 750 Samsung and started installing all my games and the operating system on that. A few month ago I use to play games on a GTX660 and with most games I would get 30-60 FPS.I would always Cap it to 30 through NVidias control panel and it felt relatively smooth.

What we are covering in this post is using Vagrant and Ansible in Windows 10 using Windows Subsystem for Linux in it’s second version ( WSL2). Vagrant comes with native support of VirtualBox, Hyper-V, and Docker virtualization, while VMware and AWS are supported via plugins. Providers are the services that Vagrant uses to set up and create virtual environments. Examples of the most used Provisioners used in Vagrant are Puppet and Ansible, being the latter the one we are covering in this post later on. Provisioners are tools that allow users to customize the configuration of virtual environments. So how does Vagrant work? Vagrant uses “ Provisioners” and “ Providers” as building blocks to manage the development environments. That is Vagrant, a software that allows creation and management of portable virtual machines. Once you have one Virtual Machine up and working most of these software programs allo you to replicate the configuration so that you can create multiple other machines in a matter of seconds.īut what if you could have a Virtual Machine up and running with all the configurations needed already done in just a matter of seconds? And not only that, but allows you to move that virtual machine to another computer by just sending a text file. You may use any of the most popular virtualization software out there like VirtualBox, VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, AWS, Docker, etc… but creating Virtual Machines the manual way can be a hustle and bustle as it usually requires to download an ISO File for the target OS that you are going to install into and then wait for the installation process which can take a while to complete. So, wether you are setting your homelab up for learning purposes, or your homeserver if you have the more advanced knowledge, or even on production in a company, you may want to automatize the process of creating, configuring and deleting Virtual Machines ( VM’s) for multiple purposes. Running Vagrant and Ansible in Windows 10 through WSL2 Main article: List of most-streamed artists on Spotify On 14 November 2018, the company announced a total of 13 new markets in the MENA region, including the creation of a new Arabic hub and several playlists. The company's US headquarters are located in New York City's Flatiron District. In February 2017, Spotify announced the expansion of its United States operations in Lower Manhattan, New York City, at 4 World Trade Center, adding approximately 1,000 new jobs and retaining 832 existing positions. Ek and Lorentzon wrote that to continue competing in a global economy, politicians needed to respond with new policies, or else thousands of Spotify jobs would be moved from Sweden to the United States. In April 2016, Ek and Lorentzon wrote an open letter to Swedish politicians, demanding action in three areas that they claimed hindered the company's ability to recruit top talent as Spotify grows, including access to flexible housing, better education in the programming and development fields, and stock options. Later that same year, in March, Spotify removed all limits on the free service tier indefinitely, including mobile devices. Using PC streaming, a similar structure to the one used today allowed the listener to play songs freely, but with ads every 4–7 songs depending on listening duration. In January 2012, the free trial periods began to expire, limiting users to ten hours of streaming each month and five plays per song. Spotify launched in the United States in July 2011, and offered a six-month, ad-supported trial period, during which new users could listen to an unlimited amount of music for free. Registrations surged following the release of the mobile service, leading Spotify to halt registration for the free service in September, returning the UK to an invitation-only policy. In February 2010, Spotify opened public registration for the free service tier in the United Kingdom. History Daniel Ek addressing Spotify staff in 2010 It distributes approximately 70% of its total revenue to rights holders (often record labels), who then pay artists based on individual agreements. Unlike physical or download sales, which pay artists a fixed price per song or album sold, Spotify pays royalties based on the number of artist streams as a proportion of total songs streamed. The service is available on most devices, including Windows, macOS, and Linux computers, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, smart home devices such as the Amazon Echo and Google Nest lines of products, and digital media players like Roku. It has no presence in mainland China where the market is dominated by QQ Music. Its users and subscribers are based largely in the US and Europe, jointly accounting for around 53% of users and 67% of revenue. Spotify is available in most of Europe, as well as Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania, with a total availability in 184 markets. Users can search for music based on artist, album, or genre, and can create, edit, and share playlists. As a freemium service, basic features are free with advertisements and limited control, while additional features, such as offline listening and commercial-free listening, are offered via paid subscriptions. Basically, Daniel has discovered that he has a special talent, and it’s up to you to decide whether to encourage him to use his power or keep it hidden so that you don’t attract unwanted attention. This time around, however, there’s a supernatural element. As with the first episode, many of these choices are centred around guiding your little brother’s behaviour. Or you might not, or it also never come up in the first place.īut the game goes further still. For example, you might get Captain Spirit to open up about his father’s alcoholism and physical abuse. Choices in the game are frequent and can lead to some very different outcomes, both in individual scenes and across the episode as a whole. It’s a shame, really, because underneath the surface, Life is Strange 2 is doing some interesting things. What seemed to be set up as a significant meeting turns out to be just another narrative stick for DontNod to beat players over the head with. It even comes across in the voice acting, with Sean and Daniel’s dialogue constantly stumbling in an artificial attempt to produce a sense of awkwardness.Įven the return of Captain Spirit – the little boy introduced in the standalone episode between series 1 and 2 – proves to be a non-event. Beyond that, however, the whole narrative feels staid. The main source of tension is that grandma is religious and a bit of a fusspot for rules, which the game naturally dares you to break. The rest of the episode sees Sean and Daniel tiptoeing around the slightly awkward relationship with their grandparents. The gramps are aware the boys are in trouble with the police but take them in regardless.Īnd, well, that’s kind of it. After leaving the summerhouse, Sean and Daniel make their way to the home of their maternal grandparents to seek sanctuary. I also think this manipulative event exists because there’s little else going on in this episode. It’s a cheap and lazy way of re-establishing the game’s melancholy tone, almost like the devs are pointing at their own characters and going, 'Ha-ha, that’s what you get for thinking things might be okay.' The setup is obvious, the execution is thoroughly unpleasant, and it’s not even necessary for the rest of the story. Now, I’m fine with games being about Sad Stuff, but the way DontNod approaches this particular plot point is dreadful. They’re just about to do this when, as is now necessary for modern adventure games, Something Terrible happens. The pair have managed a peaceful few weeks, but their food is running low and Daniel is sick, so it becomes clear that soon they’ll have to move on. It’s winter in Oregon, and they’re hiding out in an abandoned summerhouse deep in the forest. We reunite with brothers Sean and Daniel hiding from the law over a crime they were not responsible for. It also gets off to a thoroughly miserable start. Sadly, Episode Two is even more meandering and considerably less interesting. It might not be wholly clear where the story going, but surely they’d address that, right? I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt on this latter point, because, well, it was the first episode. After kicking off in emphatic style, it then proceeded to tell a thematically interesting if somewhat meandering tale about brotherly love and bigotry in modern America. The opener of Life is Strange’s second season had me intrigued but also a little concerned. That’s the basics covered, let’s take a closer look at this card, as I’m sure you’re all eager to see the features and performance in greater detail. There’s not an enormous amount in the box, just the usual documentation, but it’s all very nicely presented.įinally, you’ll find the GPU itself, as well as a DP to DVI adaptor cable. We took off the anti-static bag already, but you get the idea. The lid lifts off the top, revealing the card protected by a layer of thick foam padding. It’s a simple design, but the box feels pretty durable overall. The box for the GTX 1080 Ti is beautifully designed and compact too, much smaller that most of the graphics cards that we usually see. “The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, delivers even more performance than the TITAN X– it’s the ultimate gamer GPU! The higher clocks are likely made possible by the new and improved cooler too, it may look the same, but this time it packs a new vapour chamber design. The card can boost up to 1582 MHz and even has more overclocking potential above that, said to be able to reach around 2GHz with the right cooling. The card may look like the current GTX 1080, but the internal hardware is quite the step up. It’s also clocked to deliver around 35% performance improvement over the GTX 1080, the biggest boost for any Ti series card to date! So we’re expecting nothing short of exceptional performance from this graphics card. The boost clock is more than 85% higher than that of the GTX 980, and while it’s a few years old, the 980 is hardly a slouch in gaming tasks. The new high-end card features the GP102 GPU used in the Titan X, delivering a staggering 3584 CUDA cores, 224 Texture Units, a 352-bit memory controller, and a massive 11GB of GDDR5X memory. The power race is about to kick up yet another gear this week, as Nvidia prepare to launch their new flagship consumer gaming graphics card the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Sir Geoffrey Crowther (Chairman), Deputy Chairman, The Economist Newspaper, Ltd. Geoffrey Lloyd, M.P., Minister of Education I have much pleasure in submitting our report on this subject. Your predecessor, Sir David Eccles, asked the Central Advisory Council for Education (England) in March, 1956 to advise him on the education of boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 18. It will, I believe, come to be accepted as well worthy to take its place in the line of distinguished reports which have had so much influence on the development of education in England and Wales. They have dealt with a reference which raised many difficult and complicated issues with great thoroughness and they have presented their findings in a very readable and interesting report. Whatever the decisions eventually reached, I am sure that we owe a great debt of gratitude to Sir Geoffrey Crowther and his colleagues on the Council. I have arranged for its immediate publication because the Council's recommendations, which cover a wide field, are of great importance and will need to be studied very carefully not only by the Government but also by the many other interests concerned, including parents. Unfortunately, Longclaw is shot down from the sky by an arrow by one of them, so she uses a golden warp ring to open a portal to Earth and tells Sonic that as long as others know about his power, he will always be in danger by those seeking to take it. I have not figured out how to handle the 2nd part of the string if its characters do not result in integer when processed by the atoi() command. In some cases, there is a second part to the string that is supposed to get converted to a 16 bit integer. I welcome any thoughts on how to handle this any "better" than I already have. I check the first part of the string for specific sets of characters, and if I don’t get an “acceptable” value, all the data gets ignored and the user is prompted to re-enter the data. I’m now trying to handle cases where the data is entered by an unsympathetic user. The data is stored in a character string and by using pointers, strtok(), strcmp(), atoi() and atof() I’m able to process the data (if entered “correctly”) and get the instructions I need.
